From the Horse’s Mouth
Eatons’ Ranch‘s location amid the pine-covered eastern slopes of the Bighorn Mountains 18 miles west of Sheridan is one of the main draws, as the scenery is iconic. Grassy meadows, rolling hills and hidden valleys are interspersed with cottonwoods, pine trees meandering streams and mountain views.
Horse heaven is how this dude ranch is described. With over 220 horses, guests can certainly get matched with a mount to suit their personality, riding style and wishes. There’s also plenty of room to roam with 7000 acres on the ranch and even more space in the Bighorn National Forest, whose centerpiece is the Cloud Peak Wilderness, and beyond. You can chart a new trail everyday.
There are 51 cabins onsite and guest rooms that vary in size to suit small or large families, couples or singles. The rooms are furnished simply and comfortably with a Western flair. Most rooms are arranged for two people with twin beds and all cabins have private baths. During the winter, the ranch offers B&B style getaways, including lodging and breakfast the following morning.
Western meals on the ranch are wholesome with plenty of healthy choices. Guests may enjoy made to order breakfast, lunch buffet or BBQ, and diverse dinner entree choices!
A popular venue for weddings, conferences and corporate retreats because of its facilities and charm, Eatons is equipped with a conference center, exercise room, swimming pool, meeting rooms and wifi in the main ranch house. The Apartment Bar, located in the Main House at Eatons’ Ranch, offers a Western saloon experience.
While many guests plan to just visit the ranch, others may travel a half a day to enjoy Yellowstone National Park and seek out other attractions like Battle of the Little Bighorn National Monument, battlegrounds of the Wagon Box Fight, Tongue River Canyon, Bradford Brinton Memorial, the Whitney Gallery of Western Art and the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody.
